Hi, I'm Ben. I live mostly in Sydney, Australia, but spend a bit of time down in Tasmania. My Sydney bike is a 2020 Triumph Street Triple 765 RS. Suspension dialled in nicely now, with help from Dave Moss. My Tassie bike is my old Sydney bike, a 2008 Honda CB600F Hornet I've had since new. The suspension on the Honda was worked over by Jim Gunn from Zenodamper, many years ago. all new custom fork internals. rear shock and spring replaced by a Penske 8900 series remote reservoir rear shock and spring. I'd actually like to try and get in touch with Jim, if anyone knows where he is these days - I've long since lost the details of exactly what he did to the suspension and I'm currently fumbling around in the dark trying to work it out - especially the forks.
It has been a long time since I was in contact with Jim as well, so I don't have any recent contact info.
If you are going to work on the forks yourself, you must be careful when taking them apart, measure oil level before draining and there is a good chance that the two legs have different internal setups, so don't just take everything apart and try to figure out what is going on. You must reverse engineer the forks while disassembling, so you can get back to the setup they have.
I used to knock about with Jim when he was over here (UK) back in 2005/6 ish then he went back to Oz and we kept in touch for about 6 maybe 12 months and then one day he just stopped replying and dropped off the face of the earth and nobody's seen or heard from him since, he spoke many languages including fluent mandarin and used to do a lot of translation work especially in Asia in a previous life so I've often wondered if he's gone back to that life,
I too would like to at least know he's alright, if you do manage to contact him please keep us updated
