Let me introduce myself as a noob to suspension tuning, but a noob who likes to experiment.
Currently Ive been riding a Ducati 749S, but most of my miles have been made on a 1999 SV650.
The suspension tuning started with my SV, mods were:
Changing the OEM shock to an YSS Emulsion type damper supposedly springed for my weight. Unfortunately I dont have more details and the bike has been sold by now.
Changing the OEM springs to HAGON progressive springs.
Modding the forks to accept Gold valve Emulators.
Playing with the settings on the emulator + oil thicknesses to set it up.
With this bike I started doing track days and after Ive gotten tired of everyone blasting past me on the straights Ive upgraded to a Ducati 749S.
Mods done so far:
Re-springing Front fork to Linear 9N/mm2 springs
Changing bushings + fork seals + changing oil to 19Cst Öhlins R&T fluid & playing with Oil height -> Now using all fork travel!
Buying a busted up 1098 Showa shock to scavenge the spring (85N/mm2) and play with it in order practice shock rebuilds.
Now Im just entering the area of shims and shim stacks and trying real hard to understand and play with it. Bringing your kit to a suspension shop is the easy way and since tinkering with my bike is also hobby Id like to do it myself J
